Chancellor of VIT, Mr. G Viswanatahan, inaugurated a ‘1 week workshop on the assurance of the need for higher education on agriculture in the developing countries.
Several officials from the external affairs from countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and India participated in the programme.

VIT & Leibniz University of Hannover, Germany had signed an agreement for exchange of information oh higher education teaching/learning, research work, etc. From the year 2008, these 2 universities have been regularly organising training programmes and seminars on higher education.
The first workshop was conducted at Hannover from 1st September till 12th September. The second workshop is conducted jointly with VIT University.
The workshop started on Monday, 23rd February wnd will be for 1 week. Universities from Malaysia, Phillipines, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, IIT Delhi, Manipal, Indian Science education research centre at Pune have sent their officials and assistant registrars to participate.
Training is being given on planning, financial administration, inspection, evaluation, information, and knowledge management pertaining to agriculture. Certificates will be given to the participants at the end of the workshop.
The 3rd workshop is scheduled to be conducted in Mexico city from 3rdMarch till 13th March. The 4th workshop is scheduled to be conducted at Nairobi, Kenya from 6th April till 10th April.
