Facilities to introduce Core Banking Services in Vellore Post Division 100% completed

smartCBSLogoFinal100% of all activities associated with the introduction of the facility of core banking services in all Post Offices in Vellore district has been completed.

 

 

India Post has informed that this is the 1st time of an entire district being provided with core banking service in all Post Offices.

The central government has introduced a new scheme, ‘Wherever, whenever’ with regard to core banking services to be provided in all Post Offices.

The Post Office located at Greams Road, Chennai city was the first Post Office with Core Banking Service Facilities in the year 2013.

Once introduced in all Post Offices, customers transact money withdrawal, transfer and other facilities in more than 1000 Post Offices in the state.

Higher officials from Post Office explained that there are 12 Postal Divisions in Chennai city including Anna Salai, Arkonam, Chingleput, Kanchipuram, Tambaram, Thiruvannamalai, Vellore, Chennai North, and Chennai South.

So far, out of the 572 Post offices under the above Postal; Divisions, 345 Post Officxes have been provided with Core Banking Services Facility.

Work is progressing in all the balance Post offices to introduce core banking services.

For the 1st ever time in the country, all the 1523 Post offices functioning under the Veloore Postal Division have provided Core Banking Services Facility.

The last Post Office to be provided with core banking service facility was Ariyur Branch Post Office which introduced core banking services on 28th September.

So, Vellore Division Post office has proudly covered itself with the glory of being the first to achieve 100% completion.

Work is progressing in a fast pace in the remaining Post Offices under the various Divisions. Once completed, it would be very simple and fast to obtain details regarding PO account from anywhere in the state of Tamil Nadu.
