Online sales of crackers manufactures in Sivakasi for celebration on the occasion of Deepavali this year have crossed Rs. 100 Crores!
Deepavali festival falls on 10th November. The online of sales of crackers from the city of Sivakasi in Virudhunagar district has picked up feverish pitch.
With thousands of people arriving at Sivakasi by bikes, cars and trucks for buying crackers, the sales of crackers has picked up while traffic congestion has increased.
Apart from the usual wholesale & retail sales of crackers, online sales of crackers has also been undertaken over the last 3 years.
Apart from the major crackers manufacturing companies, several small scale trading agencies have also been selling crackers online. The online sales has picked up tremendously in this year as compared to the last 2 years.
General Secretary of Indian Crackers manufacturers Association, Mr. Kannan, informed that the online crackers sales this year has increased by a huge margin as compared to the previous 2 years. Several small retail sales agencies have also joined the online cracker sales fray along with the major cracker manufacturers. With this multiple online sales front, the sales of crackers online this year have exceeded Rs. 100 Crores.
It can’t be denied that the trend of people to buy crackers online has increased. Popular cracker manufactures sell their high quality products online. However, some fake cracker agencies also put up online sales with colorful advertisements. They advertise a wide product range along with an offer of 50% discount.
The public do get attracted with these fake & false offers and get cheated. However, since these customers who are cheated have not taken to make public complaints so far, the fake companies continue to sell their spurious products online.
