6 Singapore satellites are shcduled to be launched by ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) from Sriharikota, Andhra at the Satish Dhavan Launch station using PSLVC 29 Rocket at 6.00 PM topday (16thDecember, Wednesday).
The 59 hours count-down for the launch started from Monday (14th December), 7.00 AM.
The 6 satellites meant for remote sensing and disaster monitoring, weigh 625 kgs.
Out of the 5 satellites, tithe satellite Telyos weighs 400 kgs. This satellite would be used for orbiting the earth and gathering data for research.
This time, the satellites would be launched without the usage of boosters and would be launched direct. ISRO is scheduled to launch 20 satellites during this year.
Earlier, ISRO had launched 3 Indian satellites and 11 foreign satellites. Out of this, 13 satellites were launched through PSLV Rockets. The telecoomuncation satellite, GSAT, was launched through GSLV rocket.
It is worth noting that the telecommunication satellite GSAT-15 was launched through European Space Research Agency.
