‘Thiruvalluvar’ festival is being organised in the New Delhi Parliament Complex on Thursday (17th December) morning.
Central Ministers Mr. Venkaiah Naidu and Ms. Smriti Irani are participating on this occasion.
133 students (boys & girls) who had won in Thirukkural reciting competition will also participate and chant Thirukkural.
During the festival, ‘Life-time Achiever award’ is being given to Tamil Fil lyricist and writer Mr. Vairamuthu.
Thiruvallauar special award is being conferred on academicians S. Kuzhandhaiswamy, Ponnambala Adigalar, Dinamani Editor K. Vaidyanahtan, and author J. D’Cruz.
Students who would be reciting Thirukkural will visit Rashtrapathi Bhavan, meet the President and take a special photograph.
The festival organiser Mr. Tarun Vijay informed that this an effort to increase the awareness about Thirukkural across the entire country.
Lyricist-writer Vairamuthu will be flying to Delhi on 15th afternoon.
