Strict warning by Director of School Education: Half-yearly Examinations must not be conducted in December

shutterstock_195415799The Director of School Education Mr. Kannappan announced in Coimbatore on Friday (18th December) that severe action will be taken on private schools if they conduct half-yearly examinations during December.

The inaugural function of the 58th republic Day State-level athletic championship contests was organised at Coimbatore Nehru Playground on Friday, 18th December.

 

Director of School Education Mr. Kannappan participated in this inaugural function and had a session with press reporters:

Due to recent incessant heavy raind and floods inTamil Nadu, the half-yearly examinations for schools were postponed and now are scheduled to be conducted from 11th January, 2016 till 27th January. The examination board has already released the time-table for the half-yearly examinations.

 

A circular has already been sent to all schools not conduct half-yearly examinations earlier than the above scheduled dates.

 

Severe action will be taken on any private schools if they conduct half-yearly examinations earlier than the announced dates.

 

Currently, inspection has been carried out on all schools affected/damaged by the recent floods in the districts including Chennai & Cuddalore. Once the inspection is completed and the exent damage has been estimated, Public Works Department will be entrusted with the work of repairing/reconstructing the damaged schools.
