The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Krishnagiri office, has sent a proposal to the NHAI Chennai office the construction of a overbridge at the accident Poigai village, about 10 km from here Chennai to Bangalore National Highway.
The NHAI head office in Delhi within 20 days, and the approval for the project is expected within 25 days.
According to Senthilkumar, Senior Construction Manager, L & T Krishnagiri-Walajapet Tollway Limited, which is maintaining the 148-km section of the Chennai-Bangalore.
The police would be duty-bound to file cases against those who indulged in such acts. The government would certainly listen to their grievances if properly represented
The RTO said that a vehicle which is travelling at a speed of 60 km per hour (KMPH) would cover one km in one minute and 15.5 m (or 45 feet) in one second, whereas a vehicle travelling at a speed of 120 KMPH would cover 90 feet in one second.
The vehicle drivers were also to be blamed as they do not reduce the speed in the hope that they could stop the vehicle by applying a sudden brake if a person comes in the way.
