Core banking solutions (CBS) on a par with nationalised and commercial banks will be introduced in 23 head post offices and Rasipuram sub-post office in the State by the end of this year as a pilot scheme.
The introduction of CBS, savings bank transactions in all the post offices in the country would be governed by single software. Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) would also be installed in the post offices.
All the departmental post offices in the State have been computerised by April 2013 under Rs. 4900-crore project of the Department of Posts.
