The integrated child development scheme – ICDS organized a “Valaikappu” along with the sponsorship of the state government at a private marriage hall. About 120 pregnant women from across the city took part in it. The program was inaugurated by the Collector – Sankar.
He stated that the government takes good care of the people by taking necessary steps for the pregnant women. He also added that the government is ensuring healthy delivery of babies, offers precautionary measures and essential medicines. “Healthy babies are our society’s assets”, he added. In addition, awareness program was also conducted by the ICDS during the session.
