No New Rules To Apply For PAN Cards

It was decided by the Income Tax Department to change the procedure for allotment of permanent account number.

This has been put on hold as of now. The I-T department on Friday had tightened the rules for issuing PAN cards which were supposed to come into force from 3 February.

As per the earlier directive, PAN applicants were required to submit self-attested copies of residence and identity proof as well as produce original documents of such proofs at the time of submitting their applications.
