10th standard practicals to begin today

The directorate of government examinations said they could go ahead with the state board exam practicals for Class 10 students from Saturday.

The exams, originally scheduled to begin on Friday, was postponed indefinitely on Thursday evening as the nominal rolls, giving the registration number and names of students, was not ready. However, by Friday school officials found that the nominal rolls had been uploaded on the website

Around 11 lakh students will take the Class 10 boards, and at least half of them were expected to attempt the practical exams on Friday.

Officials said the delay in releasing the nominal rolls was due to a malfunction in the process.
