Officials at Chennai informed that there is a stock of 20,000 booklets, there is no shortage. Porogress is not affected. Generally, other reasons such as getting appointment with Passport authorities will cause delay.However, this time, the long delay is due to the shortage of booklet.
Only the applications received on Tatkal are processed immediately.
The waiting applicants have demanded that the shortage should be attended and passport to be released quickly.
