A photo exhibition organised by the Department of Information and Public Relations was inaugurated by R. Nanthagopal, Collector of Vellore at the Old Bus Stand here on Monday in connection with the 66th birthday of the Chief Minister.
The exhibition comprised pictures connected with Ms. Jayalalithaa’s participation in various functions in her capacity as an artiste and as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
They included the old pictures of Ms. Jayalalithaa receiving an award from former Chief Minister C.N. Annadurai, and posing with former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, former Chief Minister K. Kamaraj and former Chief Minister and her mentor MGR.
The exhibition also contained the picture of her serving the nutritious meal to a child, and the most recent pictures relating to the launching of the Vision 2023 Phase-II Document by the Chief Mister and the presentation of the Anna Award to S. Ramachandran who recently joined the AIADMK and other awards by her. There were also pictures highlighting the schemes of the government such as the distribution of free mixer, grinder and fan, 4-gram gold coin and marriage assistance, and free milch animals and goats to beneficiaries at different functions in Vellore district.
V.S. Vijay, Vellore MLA, P. Karthiyayini, Mayor of Vellore, V.D. Dharmalingam, Deputy Mayor of Vellore and M. Bharathidasan, Information and Public Relations Officer participated in the function. The Collector and the Mayor distributed sweets to the public to celebrate the Chief Minister’s birthday.
