Indian Railways announced identity card must for train journey…

ID Proof IN ORIGINAL for travel in ALL CLASSES.

FOR TICKETS BOOKED AT RAILWAY COUNTERS:-

Please carry ANY one of the IDs recognized by Railways, IN ORIGINAL.
However, if you are travelling by Sleeper class or in Second Reserved sitting (2S) classes, you are permitted to carry Photocopy of onlyeither your Ration Card with your photograph or your Bank Pass Book (Nationalised Bank) with your photograph, duly attested by a Gazetted Officer/Chief Reservation Supervisor/Station Manager/Station Master. All other Forms/ID proofs must be IN ORIGINAL.
If done through internet, please carry IN ORIGINALthe SAME ID as indicated at the time of booking.

IDs recognized by Railways:-

i)PAN Card issued by Income Tax department
ii)Driving License issued by RTO
iii)Photo ID card having serial number issued by the State / Central Govt
iv)Credit cards issued by banks with laminated photograph
v)Voters Photo ID card issued by the Election commission
vi)Nationalised bank pass book with photograph
vii)Passport
viii)Student ID cards with photograph issued by Recognised School/College for their students.
ix)Unique Identification Card “Aadhaar”

If any passenger is found travelling without an identity card as specicified above, he/she is liable to be treated as travelling without ticket and will be penalized and/or prosecuted as per rules. The passenger will be detrained at the next stopping station as per rules.
