Vellore Central Cooperative Bank & urban cooperative banks distributed a total financial assistance of Rs. 1.25 Crores to 76 beneficiaries.
The financial assistance was extended to farmers, loans for women self-help groups and differently abled persons.
School Education Minister, Mr. K C Veeramani handed over the assistance.
The minister mentioned that several schemes were brought out for the public welfare, including:
- Farm fresh outlets in cities to sell vegetables at affordable cost, petrol bunks and pharmacies.
- 310 Amma pharmacies have been opened across the State offering quality medicines at 12 per cent discount
- Houses were also being constructed for handloom weavers.
- Loans were also extended to women self help groups, interest-free crop loans for farmers and jewel loans for public.
