The facility to park 2-wheelers was started at the Katpadi railway Station on yesterday, 22ndDecember.
More than 100 trains operate through the Katpadi Railway station. Several people working in neighbouring cities/places travel & commute by train for their offices/work-places.
Until now, these passengers used to park their 2-wheelers in the general parking lot provided in the railway station.
However, this facility was not available during the past 8 months as nobody took the auction for the running of the parking area.
The 2-wheeler owners were compelled to leave their 2-wheelers at the station without proper security. Several thefts were reported. More than 800 2-wheelers were reported to be stolen.
The public demanded proper parking facility. There were newspaper reports about the non-availability of parking facility.
Following this, the parking provision was restarted yesterday (22nd December).
