Collector’s drive to achieve 100% eradication of Polio in Vellore district!

Vellore district Collector, Mr. Nandhagopal has requested the earnest cooperation from everyone towards making Vellore district 100% polio-free.

The collector was speaking over the occasion of presiding over the coordination meeting for the polio-drop administering special camp. The deputy directors of the health department participated.

The special camp for administering polio-drops for the year 2015 is set to start.

The first phase will be from 18^th January.

The 2^nd phase will be from 2^nd February.

The sessions will be from 7.00 Am till 5.00 PM.

There are 3,81,822 children below 5 years of age in Vellore district.

2,362 special camps are being planned throughout the district on the above dates.

56 camps will be located in/near bus/train stations.

13 camps will be located in mountainous areas with less transportation facilities.

Camps are to be located near 3 toll-gates in Wallaja, Pallikonda, & Natrampalli.

These special camps will employ 9.028 workers, 277 supervisors, and 1240 vehicles throughout the district.

The public has been requested to cooperate fully in the effort to making the district absolutely polio-free.

Senior government hospital officials participated in this meeting.
