Rivera 2015 art festival commenced at VIT University campus today (Thursday, 5thFebruary) and will continue till Sunday, 9th February.
Former India cricketer, Mr. K. Srikanth inaugurated the festival.
VIT Cheancellor, Mr. G Viswanatahan explained:
Rivera 2015’, an international Arts & Sports festival, starts today (5th February) for 4 days till 9th February.
Around 50000 students from 410 colleges from 15 states are participating.
Winners will get prizes worth Rs. 18 Lakhs.
This is an Arts & Sports Festival of International quality and Rivera Arts festival has received ISO Certificate for 4 successive years from 2011 till 2014.
Rivera 2015 has included a variety of competitions in music, dance, costumes, parades, etc to be in line to receivd ISO certification for 2015 as well.
102 programmes are scheduled on fine arts & sports. 10 seminars & workshops will also be conducted.
This years programme schedules will be conducted with biometric bar code schedules with computer software rendering it as an almost ‘paperless’ event.
As a precursor to this programme, Vellore Fort area was cleaned as a part of the PM’s Clean India campaign.
