Yesterday (Tuesday, 10th February), a public grievance meeting was organised presided by the Vellore District Collector, Mr. Nandhagopal. The officials received complaints from the public.
710 applications were received stressing on various issues.
One of them was about difficulties in obtaining ‘patta’ for the lands in Muth Vadhiyar Street for the residents living over 30 years as the pond nearby is a ‘Purampokku’ area under the corporation jurisdiction. 2 families are living in each house making it difficult for growing children. Hence, these difficulties should be solved to arrange release of patta.
Another complaint was about non-payment of pension in the Ariyur locality.
Another complaint was regarding unauthorised occupation of the koil malayaru (originally 4of 44 metres length now reduced to only 7 metres because of unauthorised occupation. Immediate action is requires to solve this.
Better arrangement for parking lorries/trucks in the checkpost area in Vaniyambadi Good road in order to avoid hardships for student-public.
Prizes were given for the winners in the government exhibition 1st Prize was won by the police department. 2nd prize was won by the school education department and the 3rd prize by agriculture department. Consolation prizes were also given.
