Officials of the World Tamil Research Centre carried 20 rare Tamil literature classics kept in the Gururajapettai Manickavasagar Madalayam to Chennai for digitization.
In an effort to prevent decay and damage of literature created during 18th & 19th century classics, it has been planned to digitize them.
Hence, all these literature classics are being brought to Chennai from various locations where they are being kept.
Manickavasagar Madalyam is located in Gururajapaettai near Arkoam, Vellore district. This is under the maintenance of Tiruthani Sri Subramanya Swami Temple administration. The information about the old Tamil Classics was informed to World Tamil Research centre.
Its director, Mr. Vijayaraghavan, made a personal visit on Thursday (5th March). He selected 20 pieces of literature for digitization.
