Government officials stopped the lottery scheme conducted without government permission.
The lottery scheme stipulated that the members should pay Rs. 100/- every week for 13 weeks. At the end, an article of equivalent value will be given. If a praize is won in the weekly draw on lottery, the member need not pay the balance instalment.
This lottery was to be conducted at 2 marriage halls in Ambur. The police along with Village Administrative officer, Mr. Mani, reached the place and stopped the scheme.
