A 2-week old boy infant was found in the Vellore Governmetn Hospital complex on 17th February. It was kept in the hospital for first-aid treatment.
Vellore Collector, Mr. R. Nandhagopla, handed over the infant to the Director of the Government-approved Adoption Centre, Ms. Tamizharasi.
This function was organised during the Monday (9th March) grievance meeting at the collector’s office.
The collector ordered immediate action to be taken on the 553 petitions received during the grievance meeting.
Rs. 63.85 Lakhs was collected on Flag Day 2014. 5 Individuals who collected the maximum amounts were felicitated with medals & certificates.
9 families of ex-military personnel were given free tailoring machines. A cheque for Rs. 25000/- was handed over to the person who was injured in the Ranipet Tannery Plant Accident.
.Though the grievance particulars were being entered on the 8 computers available, there were problems in the machines leading difficulties in entering details.
