During the recent agriculturists’ grievance meeting, it was demanded that Vellore should be declared as ‘drought district’.
Agriculturists’ grievance meeting covering Wallaja, Arcot, and Arkonam circes under the Ranipet revenue department was conducted on Wednesday, 18th March, presided by the Revenue Officer, Ms. M. Priyadarsini.
Assistant Secretary of the the district agriculturists’ Association, Mr. S C Mani spoke that there were insufficient rains during the monsoon this year. Groundwater level has gone dwon making it difficult for agriculture.Hence, Vellore district should be declared as a’drought district’ and remedial actions taken.
Other grievances:
No action has been taken on the several petitions given by Vallalar Are citizens for issue of patta. Immediate action is required.
Several other petitions were submitted.
.Revenue officer assured that these would be forwarded to concerned officials and action will be taken.
