It rained heavily in several parts of Vellore city on Sunday, 12th April. Though it was a bit sunny on Monday, cool breeze stetted blowing in the evening bringing the heat down. This was followed by rains with thunder. The roads in Katpadi, Sathuvachary, and Thorappadi were flooded and the traffic was affected for some time.

The heat was less oppressive on Monday. Clouds gathered during the afternoon. There were continuous light drizzles after 5.00 PM. At 7.00 PM, heavy rains started with thunder. Streets were flooded and water stagnated in the low-lying areas. The public, experiencing oppressive summer so far, were happy and relieved with the rains.
There were light drizzles in Thirupathur, Alankayam, and Jolarpet on Monday evening.
Heavy rain in Vaniyambadi resulted in water stagnation in main areas like bus terminus, C N Road, and Kutchery Road.
It rained in Ranipet as well. Roads and streets were flooded.
