Kolkata team won the toss and elected to field. Delhi opened with Mayank Agarwall and Shreyas Iyer. The first over was bowled by Umesh Yadav who gave away only 3 runs out of which 2 runs were through extras.
Mayank Agarwall got out in the 2nd over bowled by Morne Morkel. He scored only 1 run off 8 balls. Captain Duminy joined Shreyas Iyer. He scored a boundary off the 1st ball. However, he got out to spinner Sunil Naraine, getting clean bowled. The score was 22 runs in 4.3 overs. Manoj Tewary joined Shreyas Iyer. Shreyas Iyer was out after scoring 31 runs off 24 balls with 3 4’s & 1 6.
Yuvraj Singh entered. Manoj Tewary got out to Morne Morkel after scoring 32 runs off 28 balls with 5 4’s.
Delhi scored 100 runs off 14.5 overs.
Yuvraj Singh, who was expected to play a restoring innings, disappointed and got out after scoring only 21 runs (19 balls, 2 4’s & 1 6).
Then, Kedar jadhav (12) Nathan Coulter Nivey (2) got out successively. Angelo Mathews got out of the last ball after scoring 28 runs (21 balls, 1 4, and 2 6’s).
Delhi scored 146 runs of 20 overs for 8 wickets. Amit Mishra was not out with 1 run.Umesh yadav, Morne, Morkel, and Piyush Chawla picked up 2 wickets each and Sunil Naraine, 1 wicket for Kolkata.
Kolkata team started facing a target of147. Opener Robin Uthapa (13), Manish Pandey (8), AND Suryakuma Yadav (24) got out successively.
The other opener, captain Gambir batted with responsibility and was joined by Yousuf Pathan.Gambir took the score close to win whenhe gotout after scoring 60 runs (49 balls, 8 4’s).
Kolkata scored 147 for 4 wickets, scoring a 6-wockets win. Yousu Pathan scored 40 not out (26 balls, 6 4’sw, and 1 6) and Rayan Tenchat was 3 not out. Muthusamy took 2 wickets, and Coulter Nilay and Imran Dhar took 1 wicket each for Delhi.
Umesh Yada was the Man of the Match.
