A girl student from Gudiyatham was selected to represent Tamil Nadu participate in the national chess competition.
Chess Competitions were organised in Salem to select state representatives in the coming national chess competition on Sunday, 19th April.
120 top state players participated.
In the group for players below 17 years of age, a girl student, Senthamizhyazhini, representing Vellore regional team, won the 2ndplace at state level.
With this, Senthamizhyazhini qualified to represent Tamil Nadu state team of 5 players.
60th National Chess Competition is organised on behalf of All India Schools Sports Board at Salem SSRM High School Complex for 6 days from 25th April till 30th April.
Players from 33 states and 7 Union Territories are participating.
Senthamizhyazhini is selected to represent Tamil Nadu.
