Transport circle authorities removed high-sounding horns from more than 50 buses in Vellore.
High decibels sounding horns are being used in many buses arriving in Vellore old & new Bus terminals.
The public are extremely affected by these high-sounding horns.
Many complaints were received demanding the removal of such horns.
Based on the orders from District Collector Nandhagopal, Vellore Transport Assistant Commissioner Sridhar, and as per the advice of Transport Circle officer Prasanna, Motor-vehicla analyst Ramkumar headed a team for inspection near the new bus terminus.
They confirmed that very high-decibel sounding horns deafening the ears were fitted in both private & public sector buses.
They immediately confiscated these horns from the buses.
Further the team issued warnings to the drivers who were talking on cell-phones while driving and the auto drivers who carried more passengers than allowed and the auto drivers who had offered to share the front driver seats to the passengers.
Actions to continue
Transport circle authorities informed that these checking activities will continue. Hence the drivers and the public are strictly instructed to follow the traffic rules & regulations.
Immediate legal action will be taken on any violations.
