Vellore Collector: Skill development programmes for families which have women as leaders!

collector1A special meeting, explaining the details of Lifeline improvement plans for families with women as ‘breadwinners’, was conducted at the Vellore Corporation Office yesterday (Wednesday, 17th June).

Vellore Collector, Mr. R. Nandhagopal, presided.

While addressing the gathering, the collector informed that skill enhancement programmes will be conducted for families with women as the ‘breadwinners’.

All senior local officials organised and participated in the meeting.

Special committees are being set up comprising of families which have women as the main breadwinners.  There should be a minimum of 5 members in each committee.

Pans are affot to impart skill development training for coruses of duration from 1month to 3 months.

Beneficiaries between age limits 18 to 45 will have the opportunity to attned training programmes of duration from 3 months to 12 months with job opportunities.

For the economic benefit of these members, subsidies are to be given along with a saving bank account.

2 types of assistance will be provided in these training sessions: First is the training programme with 100% chances of job opportunity. Second is the scope for starting a business or industry as an individual or a group after the training with financial assistance with subsidy and low-interest loans. This will certainly improve the lving standards of families with women as breadwinners.

. Currently, training is being given to the government officers to select the members which are women as the family breadwinners. The officers should familiarise with the rules, regulations, and requirements thoroughly and help select deserving candidates.
