Officials examined the possibility of getting ISO certificates for all Amma Unavam’s in Vellore Corporation.
There are10 Amma Unvagam’s functioning inj Vellore Corporation including Vellore corporation area, MLA Office area, Sathuvachary Collector’s office area, Kasba Gandhinagar, Kosappettai, Vallalar Beedi employees quarters area, Pagayam bus stop area, etc.
Amma Unvagam serves food especially for the poor and downtrodden at a lower price.
In the mornings, idlis cost Re. 1/- per piece. In the noons, curd rice is served at Rs. 3/-. Sambar rice is served at Rs. 5/-.
An official team of the department, headed by Officer Mr. Karthikeyan, from Chennai analysed the possibility of getting ISO certificate for the Amma Unavagam stalls in Vellore Corporation.
The team started with inspection and quality checks of the food items served n Amma Unavagams at MLA office area, Amma Unavagam in the Collector’s office area, and the Amma Unavagam in the Pillayar temple area.
Concerned local officials were also present.
