The event of 250 youth, students of Adukkamparai Sri Venkateswara Polytechnic College, joining as member in the Indian Youth Confederation (which was started by Annie Besant) was conducted at the college complex yesterday (Tuesday, 14thJuly)
Former DGP (Director General of Police) and the President of the Chennai Adyar Youth Federation, Mr. Nataraj was the Chief Guest. He inaugurated the federation and addressed the gathering:
Indian Youth Federation was started Ms. Annie Besant in 1916. It is a great moment of pleasure that a new wing of the Federation is inaugurated at Sri Venkateswara Polytechnic College on the important occasion of the 100th Anniversary of the Federation.
Mr. Nataraj said that just as the physical strength of a person Is important, mental strength is also equally important for the youngsters. The main dictum followed by Annie Besant was that truth is the best religion.
Today is being celebrated as Youth Day. Though India i9s among the most ancient countries, it is still young!
10% of the youth do not get the right job. Hence, students should develop their skill set even as they are studying. They should find out their talent and should excel in the related field. Nothing can be or should be done aimlessly. Effort and the required training will bring the youth definite success.
There are 25 crores of people in India between the age group 5 & 25!
Currently, the number of workers is dwindling as per the latest statistics. If we develop our communication skills, we can acquire the ability to convert our thoughts into deeds. Similarly, the youth should develop their skills to succeed in the various examinations conducted by the government examination boards.
India Youth federation is set to be started in a few more important cities like Ambur & Vaniyambadi. Service to people is service to God! Think of this motto & act!
After the address, the applications of the 250 students of Sri Venkateswara Polytechnic College to join the Indian Youth Federation were handed over to former DGP Nataraj by Vellore District Youth Federation President Dr. Kalimullah and Secretary, Dr. A M Ikram.
Mr. Nataraj distributed prizes and shields to the winners in sports competition.
Forest Office Mr. kalanidhi led the event. Venkateswara Polytechnic College Principal Mr. N . Ramesh welcomed and addressed the gathering.
Many other local senior officials participated on the occasion.
