Physical fitness and physiological tests for the candidates who applied for the posts of Sub-inspectors commenced yesterday, Monday, 3rd August at Vellore Fort Police Training Centre.
Tamil Nadu Uniform Servants board undertakes the responsibility of recruitment for the posts of policeman to sub-inspectors. A decision was taken to fill up the 1095 vacancies for the posts of sub-inspectors including 328 woman sub-inspectors.
88 male sub-inspectors and 36 female sub-inspectors are to be selected to serve in Tamil Nadu Special Police Force.
113 male sub-inspectors and 48 female sub-inspectors will be selected to service in the department of armed police.
566 male sub-inspectors and 244 female sub-inspectors will be selected to serve in Law & order department.
The written tests for this recruitment were conducted on 23rd & 24th May. Examinations were conducted in 2 categories – general services and police department services.
The list of the successful candidates in the written examination was announced a few days ago. A total of 239 candidates were successful from Vellore & Thiruvannamalai Districts.
The physical & physiological fitness tests commenced yesterday, Monday, 3rd August at the Vellore Police Training Academy.
Height & chest measurements are taken in the physiological part. For stamina, males will run 1500 metres and the females, 300 metres.
Males have rope climbing, long/high jumping, 100 m & 400 m running tests.
Females have long jump, discus/ball throw, and 100 m or 200 m running.
Yesterday, 1200 metres running, height measurement, and chest measurement were conducted.
Tests will continue till Wednesday, 5th August.
