Vellore district collector Mr. R. Nandhagopal informed that activities have been initiated to improve the standards of primary health centres.
The collector inspected the functioning primary health centres in Keezhveeranam and Panavaram ares in Kaveripakkam Union.
Deputy Director Ms. Poongodi explained the various activities of the mobile hospital functioning in Keezhveeranam to the district collector. At least 60 people are treated everyday in this mobile hospital. Awareness programmes about dengue fever are also carried out using this mobile hospital.
Collector inspected the improved Primary Health Centre in Panavaram which has been equipped with the latest health equipment.
He informed the press reporters that Panavaram Primary health Centre has been winning the ‘Best Family Planning Surgery Centre’ from 2008 till 2011.
It has also won the Best Health Centre Award from Mylapore Academy.
Siddha treatment section, Dental care section, and HIV prevention section have all been functioning excellently.
All 62 primary health centres in Vellore district have Indian Medicinal systems. Social Health Centres in Dam, Thimiri, and Lalapettai have got ISO accreditation.
Activities have been initiated to improve the standards of the other health centre.
