The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has nominated advocates as its candidates in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in both constituencies in Vellore district — Vellore and Arakkonam.
B. Senguttuvan, Public Prosecutor for Vellore district and Joint Secretary of the AIADMK Advocates Wing is the party candidate for the Vellore Lok Sabha constituency.
A native of Vellore, 57-year-old Mr. Senguttuvan who joined the AIADMK in 1980 enrolled himself as a lawyer in 1983. He was the Government Pleader during the 2001-06 AIADMK regime. He practised both as an advocate in the Madras High Court and in the Vellore courts. He has also authored several law books.
Fifty-two-year-old G. Hari, the Tiruvallur North District MGR Manram Secretary is the AIADMK candidate for the Arakkonam constituency. An advocate by profession, Mr. Hari joined the party in 1983. He was the Tiruttani MLA during the period 2006-11. He held various posts including district AIADMK youth wing secretary, youth wing deputy secretary and the party’s district secretary.
R. Vanaroja (51), Vice-Chairperson of the Vellore and Tiruvannamalai Districts Cooperative Milk Producers Union is the party candidate for the Tiruvannamalai. Wife of N. Shanmugam, former AIADMK Chengam Panchayat Union Secretary, Ms. Vanaroja is currently Tiruvannamalai South AIADMK Women’s Wing Secretary.
