The president of the city council of Ambur informed that Ambur will be getting drinking water from Mettur shortly.
A city council meeting was conducted recently, presided by the Head Ms. Sangeetha Balasubramani.
All local officials participated.
The members put up various points during the meeting:
- Problems are faced by the excessive number of dogs & pigs in Ambur. Actions should be taken to check this. This was agreed bu the council by head.
- The new buildings under construction cover the sewage canals. There is no space for parking leading to traffic jams. These construction sites should be regularly inspected. The council promised immediate action.
- The city council head was felicitated for collecting Rs. 22 Lakhs as public donation for the drinking water project.
- Dogs are a problem in A Kasbah area. It needs immediate attention.
- The exterior road is 100’ wide. A large part is encroached. All the encroachments should be released.
- Because of the dog menace, public is afraid of rabies. Hence immediate action is called for.
- Encroachments in the flower-park area should be removed immediately.
- Shops have been built & rented out in the exterior Road. These encroachments must be removed.
- Though action is being taken to solve the city’s drinking water problem, it must be expedited to bring Mettur water to Ambur.
