Awareness meeting on female infanticide & ban on child gender preference

Collector Nandagopal presided over a meeting for creating awareness on female foeticide and ban on child gender preference.

Senior Medical College & Hospital officials participated in the meeting.

The collector informed that the meeting was organised as per the instructions of Tamil Nadu government.

Everyone should be aware about the laws and regulations on female foeticide. Female foeticide should be totally eradicated from our society.

The ratio of male to female in India is 100-943. In Tamil Nadu, this is 1000-996. In Vellore it is 1000-1007.

Vellore is an advanced medical healthcare centre. People from all over the country visit Vellore for treatments.

All the new inventions should be used only for positive intentions – only to check the infant’s health condition and not at all for finding the gender. The doctors and private medical organisations should help in removing the superstitions. Work towards the upliftment of women.
