Amma canteen, the successful scheme by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, J.Jayalalitha is making continual improvements in its food menu. During the month of September 2013, announcements were made about including Chappathi in its menu. The inclusion got delayed due to several reasons, however.Now, the required machineries to prepare Chappathi dough and other ingredients are made ready, and it’s time for serving hot Chappathis in the canteens.
According to the canteen authorities, they will begin to serve chappathis from this month. “The first anniversary of Amma canteen is on 19th February and it’s the CM’s birthday on 24th of the same month. Hence, confusions prevail about which date to select to start availing Chappathis”, said a canteen authority. He also added that Amma canteen will soon be launched at various places including:
