‘Chithirai Pournami’ festival!

pournamiOn the occasion of the grand Chithra Pournami (Full Moon Day on the Tamil month Chithirai), a special 108-pot milk abhsishekham was performed on the deities of Sri Amirthakatreswara and His Consort Sri Abirami in the famous Arkonam temple on Sunday, 3rdMay.

Special prayers were conducted at the Sanctum Sanctorum of of Lord Sri Amirthakateswarar & His Consort Abirami in the Sundara Vinayakar temple at the Arkonam Tamil Nadu Housing Board Society complex.

Earlier, 108 women carrying milk pots set out on a procession from Jyothinagar Police quarters from Sri Muthuariamman temple.

Once the procession reached the sanctum sanctorum of Sri Amirthakateswara, special abhishekhams were performed o n Sri Abirami with the 108 milk pots. Special Archanas were performed.

Sri Selvasundara Vinyakar temple administration committee members organised this occasion.

Chithra Pournami was celebrated at Ambur Periya Anjaneyar temple on Sunday, 3rd May.

The function started with Ganapathy Pooja. Then, Sri Laksmismaetha Sri narayana kalsasthapanam, Sri Lakshminarayana Homa, Sri Sudarsana Homam, Sri Sathya Narayana Mahimai Koorudhal, Dwadasa  Aaradhanai with Maha deeparadhanai were performed.

In the Chithra Pournami function at Sri PuthiraKametteeswara temple, a procession of 358 women with milk pots was performed on Sunday, 3rd May.

358 women started on a procession carrying milk pots from Aarani Old bus terminus, and reached Sri Puthirakametteeswara temple via Gandhi Road, Arumugam Road, Dharmaraja Koil Street, and Pudhukamur Road. Milk Abhishekham was performd for the main deity.

Hundred of devotees participated and had Darshan.

108 milk pot procession was performed at Vandavasi on Sunday, 3rdMay.

Chithra Pournami festival celebrated at the Sri Kothandaramar Swmay temple for the main deity with His Concort Seetha  at Vandavasi Bajanai Koil Street.

108 Milk pots procession was organised on behalf of Vandavasi Lokamanya Balagangadhara Thilakr Youth welfare Association.

The procession started from Fort Anjaneya temple and reached Sri Kothandaramar Swamy temple via old bus terminus, Bazaar Road, Theradi sannadhi Street, and Balu Udayar Street.

Then, milk Abhishekham was performed on the main deity.
