The central government has been analyzing a plan to grant 5 days’ special leve for all female employees to take care of the child.
Female employees of the government departments can take up to 730 days’ leave during their service period for the purpose of taking care of the child. As children certainly need their mother’s attention & presence, this concession is given for the female employees.
However, when the child crosses the age of 18, this concession will not be valid. Currently, the central government is mulling about a new concession where the women employees will be allowed to take leave for 5 successive days.
The central Department of Employees’ Welfare and Training has asked all the other government departments to give their views & suggestions before 27th January.
