Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that the low depression zone which had formed over the Arabian Sea has now transformed into a storm.
Chennai Meteorological Centre Director Mr. Ramanan informed that because of the storm formation, there are prospects of heavy rain in some districts in Tamil Nadu.
The cyclone has been named ‘Megh’.
It has been reckoned that the cyclone wills mve in Southwest direction towards Bay of Aden.
It has also informed that storm ‘May’ might not affect Tamil Nadu tat much.
The cyclonic development iin the atmospheric upper layers over Southwest Bay of Bengal has continued to remain in that zone. Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that because of this, there may be heavy rains in coastal districts of Tamil Nadu.
As per yesterday’s records, a maximum of 5 cm rainfall has been recorded in Papanasam. Upper Dam, and Perunthurai.
