At around 4.30 PM yesterday (Tuesday, 21st April), there was a sudden cyclonic winds followed by heavy rians with thunder in Vaniyambadi.
More than 23 iron electric poles fell in the By-pass Road near Vaniyambadi. This affected the traffic in the Chennai-Bangalore National Highway.
A tree located in the private middle-level school in Kadarpettai area got uprooted and fell down. This affected the traffic in the area.
With heavy rains for 90 minutes, various parts of the city were flooded. Power was also affected in several areas.
