The Public Examination for the 12th Standard students are scheduled to start in March.
Once the examinations are over, most of the students would be keen on buying the applications for professional courses like engineering & medical.
Hence, a meeting was conducted recently at Anna University regarding the time of distribution of applications forms for the year 2016-17.
Vice-Chancellor of Anna University, Mr. Rajaram, presided over the meeting.
Traditionally, the application forms for engineering courses will be distributed during the 1st week of March. Apart from the facility to download the application forms online, they will also be distributed through different centres throughout the state.
In this scenario, it is also expected that the elections for Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly is also likely to be conducted during the last week of April or the 1st week of May.
So, the meeting was to decide whether the distribution of application forms through centres should be postponed due to elections.
Anna University Registrar Mr. Ganesan informed that there was a detailed discussion about the method of counselling conducted over the last 4 years. Otherwise, no major decisions were taken. The issues regarding how many applications are to be printed, application fee, and the date of distribution of applications will be decided only during the subsequent integrated meetings.
