A district-level chess competition for Vellore district was organised in Vellore for visually impaired and other public.
The tournament was organised by Kasparove Chess Academy. Lokeswaran & Oviya won in the group for under 9 years age group. Ajithkumar & Varsha won in the age group below 15 years. Visveshawar & Vasanathambikai won in the group for below 19 years, Manraghavan won in the group for below 11 years. Chriskumar won in the group for below 13 years. Subash Sankar won in the open group. Manimaran won in visually-impaired group.
Prize-distribution function was organised.
Chess Association President Mr. Kumar presided. Local senor sports officials participated.
Deputy Police Superintendent Mr. Panneerselvam was the Chief Guest who distributed the prizes for the winners in first 3 places in the chess tournament.
