District Carrom Championship from 25th August!

District-level carrom championships are to be held at Krishnagiri from25th August.

A brief on the report released by Krishnagiri District Sports Officer Mr. Sivakumar:

Carrom championship for the year 2015-16 at district-level will be conducted at the Krishnagiri Sports Stadium from 25^th August.

The championship will be conducted at 2 levels – Junior & senior.

Under the junior level category, students studying up to 5^thstandard will participate.

Under the senior level category, students studying from 6^thStandard to 12^th Standard can participate.

For the singles winners of junior level, a prize of Rs. 500/- each will be given to winning boy & girl.

For the boy & girl in the 2^nd place, Rs. 250/- cash prize will be given.

For the boy & girl securing 3^rd position, Rs. 125/0 cash prize will be given.

For the doubles winners in junior level competition, Rs. 1000/- cash prize each will be awarded to the winning boys & grils teams.

The teams which win the 2^nd position will be given cash prize of Rs. 500/- each.

The teams which win the 3^rd position will be given cash prize of Rs. 250/- each.

Under the senior level category, singles winners (boy & girl) will be given a cash prize of Rs. 1000/- each.

The boy/girl winning 2^nd position will be given a cash prize of Rs. 500/- each.

The boy/girl winning the 3^rd position will be given a cash prize of Rs. 250/- each.

For the doubles event, the winning team will be given a cash prize of Rs. 2000/- each for boys & girls’ teams.

The teams (boys & girls) winning 2^nd position will be given a cash prize of Rs. 1000/- each.

The teams (boys & girls) winning the 3^rd position will be given a csh prize of Rs. 500/- each.

Each candidate can participate only in one event. The participating students should bring details of the class & age certified by the respective headmasters.

The winners in this district level competition will be sent to the state level competition apart from the cash prizes and certificates.

Hence, students – boys & girls – participating in the championships are requested to arrive at the stadium by 8.00 AM on 25^th August.
