A person should not tend to become high-headed after meeting success in life and getting into an eminent position. Only the last phase of your life can determine whether you succeeded in life or whether you lived a meaningful life.
Time brings out regular changes in a man during his life at different stages. We should not decide that this is the end at any stage. As on today, we have not received an educating which should be relevant to our lives. Nor did we learn it from elsewhere.
Today’s education system merely serves to test our memory power.
However, we need an education system that is more related to our life. The syllabus should be changed accordingly.
An opportunity should be given to the student to specialise in the subject chosen by him to study frm intermediate to high school. If a student fails ina subject disliked by him, there is a trend of throwing his life & future into disarray. This should be discontinued immediately.
The education should facilitate us to get all our basic life necessities. Instead of focussing on earning a good income in future, the education should help create good thinking students.
VIT Chancellor G Viswanathan recalled his schooldays and the teachers who encouraged him. The students of today are the nation’s best assets. By ensuring giving them the best quality education, India would join the economically developed countries.
Several eminent personalities participated.
