Vellore district collector, Mr. R. Nandhagopal flagged off the awareness procession for illicit liquor eradication.
Vellore district prohibition Excise and the Police departments jointly organised this awareness march.
Senior police officials participated.
The awareness march started from the Vellore Taluk Office, proceeded via Aarani Road, Anna Salai, and ended at the the Gandhi Statue at fort.
More than 500 students (boys & girls) joined the awareness march. They carried placards containing the slogans and details of harm done by illicit liquor to sensitive interior organs of the human body.
Local departmental heads also joined.
