FACEBOOK STEPS BACK

Losing hope on being successful in availing email system to the customers, Facebook has now withdrawn from it. It has informed AFP that they are giving up the email facility as most people are not making use of it. They feel that they’d rather focus on making betterments in mobile messaging.

Rewinding the history, facebook began its email service in 2010. It gave it a try with a new technique that all messages sent to the user were forwarded to the default facebook mail id rather than any others, but the idea got flopped. This trick was even regarded as gmail killer. Further, confessing the unsuccessfulness, they are now stepping back from their mailing services.

A spokesman from the facebook told that they are making notifications about the withdrawal of service to the @facebook.com users. He also added that the users will not receive message on facebook when it is sent to their @facebook.com mail id. Instead, those messages will be forwarded to the primary mail id with which the user has registered.
