Heavy rain was widespread in Vellore district by yesterday.
Thursday night, heavy thunderstorms and torrential rains in many parts of the district, the electricity was cut off in several places. Aappukkal village near Anaicut farmer Govindan’s poultry was burned to ashes by lightning. Odukathur officers went to the scene and gave remedy.
