Heavy rains lashes Vellore on Tuesday night bringing relief from the intense heat wave conditions prevailing for the past several days. Holiday has been declared for schools in Vellore Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur districts today following heavy rains since midnight due to a low-pressure build up in the coastal Andhra region.
In Vellore, schools will remain closed, however, class XI and XII students will appear for the scheduled quarterly exams in these districts.
