An appeal was made to renew the pension scheme of TNEB (Tamil Nadu Electricity Board) was made during the Engineers’ Union State general Meeting.
This State General Meeting of the Engineers’ Union was conducted for 2 days (Saturday, 13th June & Sunday, 14th June) in Katpadi.
Regional President Mr. Anthony Raj presided on the opening day. Other local officials participated and many organisers addressed the gathering.
Various issues like how the EB consumers can benefit, the welfare of the employees, and the future of the employees were discussed during the meeting.
Union’s new officials were elected during the meeting.
During the 2nd day of the meeting on Sunday, 14th June, several resolutions were passed including a plea was made to renew the pension scheme for the EB staff which was stopped.
State General Secretary of the Union, Mr. Ashok Kumar, has a session with the press reporters:
All employees who had completed 14 years of service should be promoted.
There is a shortage of employees as well as equipment in the Electricty Board. This should be rectified. The Board, which is currently functioning uneeder loss, should gradually return to the old healthy financial status.
Purchase of power from private sources has reduced. This will save money for the EB. Anomalies in the issues regarding promotions should be removed.
Full support & cooperation will be offered to provide continuous pwer to the public. Cooperation from the government & the public is required on this front.
Administrators throughout the state participated in the meeting. The meeting was organised by the Vellore secretary Mr. Arun Saravanan& divisional secretary Mr. Manikandan.
