In order to ascertain the proper use of cooking gas, a house-to-house checking has been undertaken.
It is well-known that cooking gas cylinders meant for households are being misused in tea shops, hotels and for trading.
Frequent checking is carried out to prevent this.
However, the misuse is still prevalent.
Personnel from Gas Agencies have undertaken to check house-by-house thoroughly whether the cooking gas is being used properly & safely, whether they carry the ISI mark, whether the regulators function properly and whether they are the owners in Vellore & Katpadi areas.
This check is supposed to be carried out once in every 2 years in all addresses with gas connection.
The current subsidized price per cylinder is Rs. 426. There is a plan to remit this amount in the bank, probably from 1st January.
Currently, the consumers are paying the amount after counting for subsidy. From 1st January, they will have to pay the full amount. The subsidy will be remitted into their bank accounts later.
